Kia Sportage Ground Clearance

Ground clearance (also famous as Ride height) determines the length between the lowermost mark of the vehicle’s underbody and the edge of the tires’ touch with the level surface. Though, the manufacturer of the model might exploit slight tricks to the established method to come up with appealing result hinting the legitimate gap from the shock absorbers, the engine oil pan or the muffler to the ground might be reduced than detailed in the printed specs.

It is no wonder because many car buyers hunt for an elevated ground clearance to avoid hassle when parking near the bumps or riding through the rugged area. The factual ride height of the model varies between 167 to 205 mm based on the year of production and equipment. Keep in mind that a well- loaded auto will easily give up about 1 inch of ground clearance.

Luckily, the model ground clearance can be lifted with the help of spacers for shock absorbers to help the auto remain higher off the ground. While enjoying a higher model, you sacrifice a bit of the original balance and maneuverability driving fast. On the other hand model ground clearance can be reduced for refined handling and stability.

There a number of ways to increase ground clearance. When it comes to lifting or lowering your Kia Sportage you can choose between bigger tires, a leveling kit, coil spring assisters, coilovers, airlift suspension, suspension lifts, etc.
